Mark Malis
President

Mark Malis is QQSolutions’ president and co-founder, as well as the original developer of the company's first Rating and Agency Management System (AMS) products. Mark has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance and software industries, including working as an agent for an insurance agency.

Mark developed QQSolutions’ original AMS, AutoFile, in a computer science class while attending the University of Florida. At the time, the initiative was intended for a senior class project, but after his father’s insurance agency implemented the system, the response was overwhelming. Upon graduating from UF with his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer & Information Engineering, Mark continued to advance the AMS, and sell it to other insurance agencies.

Under Mark’s leadership, QQSolutions became one of the top solutions providers in the Independent Insurance agency market, with more than 22,000 users nationwide. Without any outside funding, he led QQSolutions to increased revenue growth every year for 25 years since its founding.

Mark has also focused on creating a positive work environment, with bagel Fridays, team lunches, birthday celebrations, as well as supporting the “QQ Fun Zone” – a group of employees who create events to foster teamwork and camaraderie.

In June, 2015, Vertafore acquired QQSolutions. Mark has remained with the company and is excited about the new possibilities.

Jim Garrett
VP of Technology

We are focused on developing innovative, robust and secure software solutions for the independent insurance agency community.”

Jim joined QQSolutions in June 2013 and is responsible for software development of QQSolutions’ agency management systems. Jim has over 20 years of experience leading teams and developing software. He has been responsible for the design, development and implementation of software being used by over 80,000 customers in the medical, dental and veterinary industries.

Jim has designed award-winning software packages recognized by both peer groups and user groups as the most innovative and cutting edge in their industries. He has served as a voting member on committees for the standardization of medical diagnostic imaging and on the curriculum advisory board for two college Computer Science departments.

Jim attended Lakeland Community College and the University of Missouri, St. Louis. Jim also holds multiple certifications as a developer, systems architect and technical trainer.

In his spare time, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife of 25 years, Kim, and their sons, Jeremy and Brandon. His hobbies include playing music, writing a technical blog and enjoying the restaurants of South Florida.

McKay Ferrell
Director of Project Management

McKay joined QQSolutions in October of 2015 and is responsible for the vision, strategy, and lifecycle management of QQ’s product lines. He brings over 16 years of experience leading cross-functional teams and developing technology solutions for companies, including AT&T, VTech Communications, Greenbrier Companies, Subaru, Oil Can Henry’s, Quiznos, c3ms, Corporate Media, and Formations Design Group.

Prior to joining QQ, McKay served in various product management and leadership positions for Patterson Companies, Inc., where he led new technology product initiatives, directed product management portfolios, developed innovative business plans, managed strategic product roadmaps and was chair of the organizational change leadership team.

McKay holds a B.A. in Business from Washington State University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and became a member of the International Honor Society, Beta Gamma Sigma.

Outside of work, you’ll find McKay and his wife, Jasmine, watching a sporting event or at the beach with their children, Keelee and Kellan.

Doris Gonzalez
Director of National Sales

Doris joined QQSolutions in November of 2009. In her role as Director of National Sales and Vertafore Eastern US Team leader, Doris is responsible for helping grow the company’s base of insurance agencies subscribing to its agency management and comparative rating solutions.

Doris brings over twenty-two years of experience as a sales manager and top sales performer with several leading companies, including Pagenet, Verizon, Cingular/AT&T, G.Neil, and Ceridian Corporation. During her career, she has earned numerous sales awards, including Circle of Excellence and most recently, Insurance Woman of the Year 2016.

Doris holds a Bachelors degree in Business Management. In her free time, Doris enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Erik, two sons, Carlos and Andrew, and step-son, Evan.

Alexander Garcia
Manager, Professional Services

Alex joined QQSolutions in March of 2009 and is responsible for leading the professional services team, bringing vitality and energy to client engagement. Alex leads a group of enthusiastic Project Managers and Trainers who persistently work toward improving QQSolutions customer delivery lifecycle. Alex brings 12 years of customer service experience and is committed to providing smooth and painless software implementation to our customers.

Alex attended Palm Beach College. His background includes customer service, I.T. and project management.  In his spare time, Alex enjoys spending time with his fiancé, Paola, and exercising.

Staci Cavalcante
Manager, Product Support

Staci Cavalcante is a Customer Service Leader with extensive experience working with all organizational levels creating, promoting, and delivering customer solutions designed to support the organization’s business plan. Staci is passionate about creating an interactive and enjoyable business environment that supports both the team and the customer.

Most recently, Staci was Director, Customer Care. There she set the strategic direction for an international Technical Support team. Prior to this role, Staci served at several organizations managing and delivering Customer Service to employees, vendors and clients. Her work has always been focused on meeting the strategic needs of the organization. Staci’s outstanding strengths include leadership, communication and team building.
