What are Guided Workflows? Guided Workflows are a new concept for agency management systems. The idea is to provide users with a step-by-step procedure for each of the common tasks that they do — effectively “walking” them through each process. How We Did It
To develop the Guided Workflows for QQ Catalyst, we had to consider all of the employee roles — or personas — in an insurance agency, along with the tasks they perform on a daily basis. These include:
- Adding contacts, including prospects, customers, carriers, and lienholders
- Writing, renewing and endorsing policies
- Creating ACORD forms
- Generating reports
- Uploading files
- Managing documents
- Processing carrier downloads
- Setting up new customers
- …and many more
Our goal was to create an agency management system that, unlike all others, would actually guide users through the completion of these common agency functions and activities using insurance industry best practices. So, we picked the brains of experts in insurance agency workflow and best practices to help us design the ideal workflows for all key agency processes. Then, we designed a generalized guided workflow user interface and applied it consistently throughout Catalyst to provide users with easy, step-by-step processes for all of these activities.
